Playa del Carmen is located at the shores of the Caribbean Sea in the northeast of the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. Once a small village with a few inhabitants and mainly passed through to take the ferry to the Island of Cozumel, Playa del Carmen was fast discovered in the 80’s by travellers searching for a place away from the crowds in Cancun.

Today, Playa del Carmen is the heart of the Riviera Maya, an International Tourist Destination with more than 3 Million visitors every year, and a Cosmopolitan town with over 150.000 inhabitants from all over the world. Playa del Carmen is a beautiful town where Mexicans and all kinds of nations live in peace together. This is the best part for me. I have friends from all over the world. Playa del Carmen also is a safe place where you can walk everywhere and find everything close by. It is a perfect place to spend vacations, spend some month while it is winter in your country or live permanently, like I do. More and more retirees and more and more people who are able to attend their businesses online are moving to Playa del Carmen.

The advantages to live in Playa del Carmen are obvious: lower cost of living, better prices for Homes (renting and buying), cheaper labour (you can easily afford a maid and a gardener!), and the sunny tropical climate which makes live so much better!
